Jerry Dr. Reeves, MD

As WorldDoc’s board chair, Dr. Reeves provides strategic direction and leadership for the organization. In conjunction with his role, he serves as Chief Medical Officer of Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union Welfare Funds.

Dr. Reeves gained his professional and leadership experiences through a variety of professional positions, including his former role as corporate senior vice president and chief medical officer for Humana, Inc. While at Humana, Dr. Reeves oversaw disease management, population health and prescription drug programs for 6.2 million members.

For eight years prior, Dr. Reeves held leadership positions at Sierra Health Services, including the roles of president of Nevada’s largest multi-specialty group practice, senior vice president of healthcare operations and chief medical officer of Nevada’s largest insurer. He had executive responsibility for Sierra’s owned and operated health care services, including 12 clinics, an ambulatory surgery center, a home health company, hospice company, rural hospital and a behavioral health company.

Dr. Reeves served in the United States Air Force Medical Corps for 20 years. Before retiring, he was named chief of clinical medicine at USAF headquarters in Europe. He oversaw 350 physicians and medical support personnel at 27 Air Force medical treatments facilities spread throughout Europe. In addition to his Air Force service, Dr. Reeves has been a faculty member at three medical schools, directed medical education programs, trained pediatric residents and authored publications on infant nutrition, anemia and bone marrow failure.

As an internationally recognized medical expert, Dr. Reeves has been a member of the American Association of Health Plans’ Leadership Council, a member of the National Business Coalition on Health Leadership Council, a member of the Board of Health of the State of Nevada and a member of the National Advisory Board of Partners in Quality Education. He has held several board positions with charitable and professional organizations.

Dr. Reeves holds a Medical Doctor degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology-oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics and in medical management by the American Academy of Medical Directors.
