Healthy Ocala begins the next phase of its health information exchange project in mid November by conducting a physician training program. Physicians who use Greenway EMR software can soon integrate patient health information with local hospitals via Patient Keeper and the patient’s personal health record using WorldDoc 24/7. A major push to sign up consumers as members of Healthy Ocala will be launched in January of 2010. Patient Keeper will send WorldDoc patient data using the Continuity of Care Record standard (CCR) and WorldDoc will update the user’s PHR. WorldDoc Foundation believes this project will provide a proof of concept for how RHIOs can engage consumers in their information sharing strategy.
