Luther College (Iowa) is requiring that all incoming freshmen take a 7 week health class which includes registering for WorldDoc 24/7 and completing WorldDoc’s Health Risk Assessment. WorldDoc Foundation is donating services to Luther College to create an opportunity to track and measure student health over the entire college experience. Greg Lonning, Wellness Coordinator for Luther College, hopes to help students understand the importance of taking personal responsibility for health and to start “life-long health records” that are controlled by the student/consumer.” This is the second year for this program. Results will be used to adjust curriculum in health management classes and to recommend content improvements within 24/7 that address college student health concerns. Student population health will also help the college plan wellness, prevention and intervention strategies going forward.
