WorldDoc, Inc. and its nonprofit arm the WorldDoc Foundation announced today a partnership to provide the Greater Ocala Health Information Trust, Inc. (known as Healthy Ocala and Greater Marion County) access to WorldDoc’s 24/7 Personal Health Management System throughout the Ocala, Florida region.

Conectado en Nevada: WorldDoc Foundation’s Spanish Health Information Access Project
Through a modest but life-giving $50,000 grant from Nevada’s Trust Fund for Public Health, Las Vegas-based, not-for-profit WorldDoc Foundation is leading a project to encourage uninsured Spanish-speaking households throughout the state to better manage their own health by providing them with 4,000 free user accounts to WorldDoc Inc.’s online health management tools. Similar to WebMD, for-profit WorldDoc Inc., also headquartered in Las Vegas, makes and markets a consumer-based online health-management program that covers 95 percent of all health conditions. In contrast to WebMD, however, WorldDoc targets specific health plans and self-insured employers.

Nevada to receive health care funding
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Administration on Aging announced today that Nevada's Department of Health and Human Services would receive $750,000 to provide a one-stop location for long-term support services. The Aging and Disability Resource Center grants are being issued to help seniors and disabled people overcome barriers to community living, the federal agencies said in their joint release.

UNLV Students to gain Access to WorldDoc
The University of Nevada Las Vegas has entered into agreement with the WorldDoc Foundation to provide the UNLV student body with access to WorldDoc’s “My Health 24/7” product. All students will be able to access WorldDoc through a link on the UNLV Web Site. WorldDoc and UNLV are working together to develop new content related to student wellness issues.
The partners will also track usage and impact on usage of student health services available on campus. The agreement runs through August of 2007.
AHEC Partnership Graduates First Class
The Area Health Education Center announced the graduations of the first “Pick Your Path” class on November 5th. Pick Your Path is a nationally recognized program which targets at-risk women to participate in a health and wellness curriculum to help them make good lifestyle choices to improve health. WorldDoc Foundation provided all the participants with free access to a personal WorldDoc My Health 24/7 account. Participants completed the Health Risk Assessment at the beginning of the class and will be asked to retake the assessment at 6-month intervals for the next two years to help measure the impact that this program has on health of the class members.
Seniors Gain Access to WorldDoc Inc.
Effective November 1 st seniors participating at eight (8) Senior Centers throughout Nevada will be able to have their own WorldDoc Account. The Division of Aging Services recently provided these 8 centers with new computers available for use by the center participants. The WorldDoc Foundation is training center staff and a group of SHP volunteers to help seniors register for their personal WorldDoc accounts and to use WorldDoc to help make health-related decisions. The program will emphasize the relationship with the new Medicare Part D program. |
