My Health Nevada - Great Basin Primary Care Association & Access Health Las Vegas
  • Challenge: Provide relief and assistance for uninsured Nevadans.

  • Objectives:

    1. Implement discounted medical services for uninsured cash payers.

    2. Provide means for uninsured to track their family’s health using electronic health records.

    3. Establish tools that can help those with chronic conditions manage their health more effectively.

  • Process: Community connections provide Internet access to those families without home access to www.myhealthnv.com; this site provides free access to WorldDoc tools, a diabetes program, and establishes discounted health services in collaboration with a number of community providers.

  • Lesson: Building trust with people in disadvantage takes persistence, patience and culturally appropriate methods and language; collaboration only adds strength and value to the mix.
